Does morning sickness only happen in the morning?

Myth

No. For most people, pregnancy nausea can strike at any time of day, and for some it lasts all day.

The name is misleading. Nausea is often worse on an empty stomach, which is why mornings can be hard, but only a minority have symptoms limited to the morning.

It often starts around weeks 4–6. The NHS says it usually improves or stops somewhere between 12 and 20 weeks.
