Is flying unsafe during pregnancy?

Myth

For most uncomplicated pregnancies, flying is safe up to around 36 weeks. Airlines have their own cut-offs, often earlier for international flights or twins.

Airport scanners and cabin radiation on typical flights are not considered a risk. The bigger concern on long flights is blood clots, so walk around, stay hydrated and consider compression stockings.
